After activating EliteCart on your Shopify store, we recommend that you disable the theme's built-in drawer / slide cart (in case you had it activated before).
This can resolve an issue if you see both EliteCart and your theme cart opening. But deactivating it will also decrease your website's size and improve its performance. Why? Because the cart is still rendered in the so-called DOM (i.e. it appears in the HTML code of your website and is thereby downloaded to your customers device, even though it doesn't show).
The process for deactivating your theme's cart feature may vary depending on your specific theme. However, here's a general step-by-step guide:
In your Shopify admin dashboard, go to "Online Store" and click "Themes".
Find your live theme and click "Customize".
In the theme customizer, look for a section or setting related to the cart, such as "Cart", "Slide Cart", "Drawer Cart", or similar.
Locate the option to disable or turn off the cart feature. Most often you can select between "Drawer Cart" and "Cart Page" - you will want to choose Cart Page. But it may also be checkbox, toggle switch, or dropdown menu.
Save your changes and exit the theme customizer.
If you have trouble finding the appropriate setting or need further assistance, consult your theme's documentation or reach out to our support.
