After explaining the benefits of using 1-Click Addons in previous article, let's dive into how to set up your first addon in EliteCart.
Enabling the Addon
Log in to your Shopify admin panel and navigate to the EliteCart app.
Choose Cart Designer.
Locate the "1-Click Addons" section and toggle the "Enable Addon 1" switch to activate addon 1. (You can activate up to 2 addons).
This is how the backend looks:
Selecting the Addon Product
Click on the "Select Product" button next to the addon you want to set up (Addon 1 or Addon 2).
A pop-up window will appear, displaying a list of all the products in your Shopify store.
Search and select the product you want to offer as an addon.
If you don't have a dedicated addon product yet, you can create one first and come back here.
Customizing the Addon
Once you've selected the product, you can customize how the addon will be displayed to your customers:
Title: In the "Title" field, enter the text you want to appear alongside the addon checkbox. You can use the placeholders {title} and {price} to dynamically display the product's title and price matching the customers language and currency - more on that below. You can also use Smileys 🚀
Description: If you wish to add some more context to help the customer understand the addon, you can do so here without cluttering the cart. The content will be visible in a popover, which the customer can open by clicking on / hovering over a small info icon next to the title.
Style: Choose between a round or square style for the addon checkbox.
Localise: If you are using the placeholders {title} and {price}, EliteCart will automatically display the price of your product matching the customer's currency and language.
{title}: We use your product title translations if you use an app like Langify or Weglot.
{price}: We use Shopify Markets' custom-set prices or currency conversion rates. We recommend setting fixed prices or using conversion rounding rules for your core markets to ensure appealing prices like 1.95€ or 2.99USD (rather than 3.06USD)...
Localise your other text. If your store runs in multiple languages, you should translate the remaining text, e.g. if you use "Add {title} for just {price}", you must still translate "Add" and "for just". You do that within the EliteCart app under Language & Translations settings.
Note that even if you don't use the {title} placeholder, we still recommend you to translate the product into all of your store languages, since this translation is used in the Shopify checkout, in order emails and other customer touchpoints.
