When calculating cart totals to determine reward eligibility or application, EliteCart includes the value of all products in the cart with two key exceptions.
Shopify gift cards (not to confuse with EliteCart gift rewards) are automatically excluded from the reward calculation. This prevents customers from gaming the reward system and aligns with Shopify's discount logic, where gift cards don't affect shipping calculations.
If the threshold type is set to item count, addons do not count into the total.
If the threshold type is set to cart total, addon values are adding to the total. To avoid this, you can add an exclusion tag to the addon product (see below).
Rewarded gifts are excluded from both cart total and item count calculations.
You can manually exclude specific products by adding a tag to them in Shopify. This is particularly useful for digital products that don't require shipping, though the choice is yours since you might still want digital products to count toward discount or gift thresholds.
To exclude a product from reward calculations, add this tag to the product in Shopify:
